This Queen Anne Style home on the corner of First Avenue and “R” Street was built in 1890 by Elmer Darling, and later enlarged.  Richardson Quann Associates, with help from J. Scott Anderson completely reconfigured the main floor of this elegant home.  The public spaces of the house were reconfigured with new period pocket doors to create a sequence of spaces with similar flow to Le Louvre in Paris.  Capitol Hill Construction completely renovated the kitchen, dining room, powder room, master bathroom and added an attic HVAC unit. The upgrades included structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finishes, all of which qualified for Utah State Historic Preservation Tax Credits.
